The lubrication of the bearing can reduce the internal friction and wear of the bearing and prevent burning and sticking. Prolong its service life; Discharge frictional heat and cooling to prevent overheating of the bearing and aging of the lubricating oil itself; It also has the effect of preventing foreign matters from intruding into the bearing, or preventing rust and corrosion.

When the bearing is working, not only rolling friction but also sliding friction will occur between the ring, the rolling body and the cage, so that the bearing parts will wear away continuously. In order to reduce the wear of bearing parts, maintain the stability of bearing precision and extend the service life, bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

Under the action of periodic load, the contact surface of bearing is easy to fatigue damage, that is, crack and spalling, which is the main form of bearing damage. Therefore, in order to improve the service life of the bearing, the bearing steel must have high contact fatigue strength.

Bearing parts in the production process, to go through a lot of cold, hot processing processes, in order to meet the requirements of large quantities, high efficiency, high quality, bearing steel should have good processing performance. For example, cold, hot molding performance, cutting performance, hardenability and so on.
